Abstract
Gastronomic tourism is becoming an increasingly important component of the modern tourism industry because food represents not only a basic travel need but also an important element of cultural identity, historical heritage, and destination competitiveness. Uzbekistan possesses significant gastronomic tourism potential based on its traditional cuisine, historical cities, agricultural resources, hospitality traditions, and cultural diversity. This article examines promising directions for the development of gastronomic tourism in Uzbekistan. Particular attention is given to the promotion of national cuisine, development of culinary routes, gastronomic festivals, farm-to-table tourism, digital marketing, culinary education, local entrepreneurship, and integration of gastronomic resources with cultural and heritage tourism. The study argues that systematic development of these areas can contribute to diversification of the national tourism product, support local businesses, create employment opportunities, and strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as an attractive gastronomic destination.
