Abstract

This thesis examines Nazar Eshonqul’s novella “Qora kitob” (“The Black Book”) from the perspective of postmodernist thinking, with particular attention to symbolism, semantic multiplicity, instability of reality, and the transformation of traditional cultural images. The analysis is based on the text of the novella itself. The work constructs a complex artistic world in which memory, dream, confession, fear, guilt, family experience, and mythological imagination constantly intersect. The image of the “black book” functions not merely as a physical object but as a polysemantic symbol associated with forbidden knowledge, guilt, memory, spiritual darkness, self-judgment, and the destructive power of consciousness.
